Outcry AI for iPhone, iPad and Mac — version 2.0 and later
The Outcry app sends your messages to Outcry's service to generate replies, the same way the website does, and keeps your conversations in your account so you can return to them. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.

When you send a message it travels over an encrypted connection to Outcry's servers, where AI models operated by Outcry and its service providers generate the reply. Conversations are stored under your account so they appear on every device and on outcryai.com.
You can use the app without signing in; we create a guest identity on this device. If you Sign in with Apple, we store the email Apple gives us (which can be Apple's private relay address) and attach your conversations to it. We never receive your Apple password.
Basic, Plus and Pro bought in the app are billed by Apple. We receive the subscription status and an Apple transaction identifier so we can unlock your plan; we do not receive your card details. Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.
Settings › Account › Delete Account removes your account and your conversations from Outcry's servers. Without an account, Settings › Advanced › Delete My Conversations from Outcry's Servers removes the conversations saved for your device (version 2.0.1 and later). Settings › Advanced › Delete All Chats on This Device clears the copy on this device.
The app contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting frameworks.
To generate replies, keep your conversations available to you, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and improve the service. Conversations are processed by the AI service providers Outcry works with in order to generate replies, and may be used to improve Outcry's AI and those services. A local copy of your conversations (Apple's SwiftData, in the app's sandbox, excluded from backups), your session token (in the iOS Keychain), and your preferences (appearance, theory-of-change setting). Uninstalling the app removes the local copy; it does not delete your account.
Outcry's servers run on Vercel and Neon (United States). Replies are generated with third-party AI model providers. Sign in with Apple and subscriptions are provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
The app uses network access only. It does not request your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, calendar or health data.
Outcry is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Versions 1.0 through 1.9 ran an AI model entirely on your device and sent no conversation data to us. Conversations created in those versions stay on your device only, unless you continue them after updating.
